We have now been here so long that some of our friends who have graduated and moved on are coming back for academic conferences. I guess that is the blessing of being at a University: They host conferences which is where all the academics go to talk intellectual shop and share research and ideas, or so they say, but I really think it is just an excuse to travel and see new places. Because WHO in his/her right mind would not want to come to State College, PA? Isn't it the hub of all things fun and exciting?! Well, maybe not, but at any rate we were excited when our friends the Andersons announced they would be coming back to Penn State for a higher ed. conference. We had not seen them since Christian had graduated a year earlier so it was a great chance to get reacquainted and talk about life after graduation. (Are we there, yet?)
It is always nice to catch up with friends and within minutes feel as if we've never been separated.
